What are
computers??????
Today we
live in the world of computers. In this modern world computers are exploited
for many different purposes.
Many jobs
are computerized in order to reduce human efforts, but often we are misguided
with the term computers as PC.
Computer is
any electronic device designed for storing or processing data thus a simple
calculator can also be categorized as a computer.
There are
different types of computers ranging from small micro-controllers to huge super
computers.
The computer
is needed to be programmed in order to process data, different computer
languages are used to program a computer such as c++ , lisp and many more.
ARDUINO
Arduino is a
micro-controller circuit board which can be programmed to perform various
functions.
On a basic
level arduino can be considered as a small pc capable of doing many things. It
can be programmed by inputting information code.
The arduino
processes data and responds with a proper output thus it is commonly used to
control motors.
Arduino.cc
is a software and hardware company which manufactures different types of
arduino boards such as arduino uno, arduino mega, arduino nano and many more.
ARDUINO UNO
DIMENSIONS:
68mm x 53mm
VOLTAGE: 5 V
DIGITAL
PINS: 14
ANALOG INPUT
PINS: 6
LANGUAGE: C
and C++ programming language.
LANGUAGE C++
C++ is a
general purpose programming language created by Bjarne stroustrup. It is used
for programming basic computers such as arduino boards. The input information
is feeded in computer through this language. The computer processes data on the
basis of it. This language is standardized by international organization of
standardization (ISO).
USES OF
ARDUINO
As arduino
is a cheap micro-processor and a controller it can be used to provide
intelligence to a circuit. On a basic level it can be used to automate and
control different things such as lights, motors and various effectors.
As arduino
can also be connected to different sensors it can also be used to collect and
extract data.
HOW TO
PROGRAM AN ARDUINO???
Arduino.cc
company has designed a special software for the purpose of programming arduno
board. The software is free and is available in both pc and mobile devices, but
it is often convenient to program an arduino from a pc or a laptop.
HOW TO
PROGRAM AN ARDUINO FROM PC
Connect the
arduino board to a pc using a arduino cable (USB cable type A/B). open the
software and configure the settings regarding the model of the board. For this
click on the Tools option and choose the respective model of the board you are
programming.
After
configuring board settings paste the information code (input code) in the
software and check it for the final time.
After
checking the code upload it. For this click on a small arrow option present in
the top left corner of the window (below the option of FILE)
After the
code is uploaded successfully, the arduino is programmed and is ready for use.
This is how
simple it is to program an arduino board, one who knows the language (c++) can
easily program arduino for many different purposes.
Similarly we
can program an arduino through any mobile device by using OTG cable, arduino cable and
Arduinodroid app.
Thus arduino
is the best option for a beginner to enter the world of computers.
One can
explore his creativity in the field of computers by trying some DIY projects
using arduino.
Not only
small projects arduino is also used to program big projects such as:
Automated
solar panel, automated street lights, sound controlled lights and voice enabled
mechanisms. Small in size and cheap at the price arduino is a full package to
explore one’s cyber creativity.
